I never changed my setings in the game and I was playing for like a month befor I got the mesage initialize Direct X. I've also tried installing the latest Direct X again from Microsoft in case some files were missing. Excerpts of the log/errors are shown below. we have to get in registry editor and browse to HKEYLOCALMACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>DIRECT3D>DRIVERS and change SoftwareOnly to 0. The install fails from the CD and tells me to check the Windows System DX log and error file. 0904 installed, but the game doesn't recognize it so asks to install it (the message says that the correct version of DirectX was not found, do I want to install it from the CD).
I am attempting to play a new game (Secret Files: Tunguska), that requires Direct X 9 be installed to play.
